Sunnybrook's Radiation Oncology team is world leading in the development and implementation of new approaches to radiation treatment.

We are looking for a dynamic medical leader who can build on the many achievements of this team, and help lead the Department of Radiation Oncology at Sunnybrook to even greater heights on the world stage.


The Chief of Radiation Oncology provides leadership for Radiation Oncology, Medical Physics and Radiation Therapy in the Odette Cancer Program at Sunnybrook.

The Odette Cancer Centre is the comprehensive cancer program and houses one of North America's most dynamic and largest radiation oncology programs and is a growing regional program.

Sunnybrook has made extensive strategic investments in this area, and as a result we have the largest brachytherapy program and the largest radiotherapy program in Canada.

Sunnybrook provides an exciting and dynamic research environment for radiation oncologists to work alongside a diverse team of health care professionals which includes 32 radiation oncologists and 140 radiation therapists.

Over 7500 new radiation oncology patients are seen each year at the Odette Cancer Centre which is equipped with state of the art technology, including 13 linear accelerators, gamma knife, MR-Brachytherapy, MR-Linac, in addition to 0.5T, 1.5T and 3T MR imaging.

The centre offers advanced clinical and research programs in intensity-modulated radiation therapy, image-guided radiation therapy, stereotactic radiosurgery and stereotactic body radiation therapy and has a medical physics department comprised of over 40 staff.

The academic radiation oncology cancer program at Sunnybrook is one of North America's largest and very successful academic department.

As a premier academic health sciences centre, Sunnybrook is committed to high quality inter-professional education.

It provides unique educational experiences for more than 4,000 trainees each year and is the home of one of the University's four Academies for undergraduate medical education in addition to providing superb postgraduate and fellowship training in virtually all disciplines.

Anticipated income range is $500k - $700k, depending on the individual's clinical practice. This includes both administrative stipend and clinical earnings.
