Our client is launching a new restaurant concept that carries the legacy of their renowned sister restaurant, which is among the top 100 restaurants in Canada.
They are currently looking for a Chef de Cuisine who can bring their creativity and passion to this exciting new venture.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee all kitchen operations, including menu creation, staff training, and kitchen management.
- Develop innovative, exciting, and delicious dishes for the restaurant's menu, maintaining the company's reputation for culinary excellence.
- Supervise the kitchen team, fostering a positive, collaborative, and efficient work environment.
- Coordinate with suppliers to source highquality ingredients, ensuring the freshness and standard of the produce.
- Control kitchen costs and manage budget effectively.
- Uphold strict health and safety standards, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff, cultivating an environment of continuous learning and improvement.
- Collaborate with the management team to align kitchen operations with the restaurant's broader goals.
- Drive the execution of culinary events and promotions.
- Monitor the kitchen's performance and implement improvements as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Significant culinary experience, ideally in a highend or similar restaurant, with a proven track record as a Chef de Cuisine or similar role.
- Culinary school diploma or equivalent experience is required.
- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Creativity and passion for creating new and delicious dishes.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Familiarity with kitchen sanitation and safety regulations.
- Excellent time management abilities and experience in kitchen logistics.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle highstress environments.
- Ability to manage costs and inventory effectively.
