The Role

  • Oversee the daytoday operations of the Accounts Payable and Receivable department, including managing daily, weekly, and monthly tasks, as well as generating key performance indicator (KPI) reports.
  • Support management with corporate requirements including but not limited to legal corporate filings, tax implications and planning, government filings and so on.
  • Ensure the timely completion of monthly and annual closing procedures and accurate posting of accruals.
  • Authorizing cheque payments and wire authorizations
  • Develop, enhance, and evaluate internal control systems.
  • Generate accounting reports upon request, including statutory and managerial reports.
  • Analyze financial information, identify trends, and summarize financial status.
  • Ensure the company complies with GAAP principles and other relevant government laws.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting profession.
  • Currently finalist or completing requirements of the Canadian CPA designation.
  • Previous experience in overseeing accounting operations, with a focus on Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Previous experience in cash flow management and forecasting
  • Proficiency (Intermediate/Advance) level in Excel
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, encompassing both QuickBooks Enterprise desktop and QuickBooks Online platforms.
  • Ability to handle external audits.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a timely manner.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Highly initiative and independently motivated
  • Wellorganized and able to thrive in a fastpaced work environment.
  • Proficiency in managing, mentoring, and enhancing teams, specifically a team of 46 accountants.
