OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING IN THE ROLE:

  • Design, configure, and manage computer networks and systems.
  • Install, upgrade, and troubleshoot network equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Implement network security measures to safeguard systems and data from unauthorized access.
  • Monitor network performance and identify areas for enhancement.
  • Diagnose and resolve network problems promptly.
  • Coordinate with crossfunctional teams to ensure network connectivity and availability.
  • Perform routine network maintenance tasks, such as firmware upgrades and patch management.
  • Conduct network capacity planning and recommend necessary upgrades or expansions.
  • Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to endusers, addressing networkrelated inquiries.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in networking technologies.
  • Research and evaluate new network products and technologies.
  • Collaborate with vendors and service providers to ensure effective network implementation and support.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of networkrelated projects.
  • Implement and manage network monitoring and management tools.
  • Ensure compliance with network security policies and procedures.
  • Conduct network audits and vulnerability assessments.
  • Uphold and promote network standards and best practices.
  • Work with IT teams to integrate network solutions with other infrastructure components.
  • Participate in oncall rotations and respond to network emergencies.

WHAT SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS YOU'LL NEED TO DO THE JOB:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • Industry certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), CompTIA Network+, or equivalent certifications
  • 5+ years of experience in network engineering or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, etc
  • Familiarity with network security principles and best practices.
  • Experience with network troubleshooting and diagnostic tools
  • Knowledge of network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Excellent communication, problemsolving, and collaboration skills.
  • Experience in Public and Health sector is a plus.
