As a Chaplain you will be responsible for ensuring that the best possible spiritual care is provided to the residents and staff by coordinating spiritual and religious services that meet the needs and various lifestyles of our community.
What Will You Do:
- Provide a comprehensive ministry of religious and spiritual pastoral care to residents, families, staff and meaningful others by ensuring ongoing pastoral visitation and spiritual counseling.
- Facilitate spiritual group programming for residents and provide 1:1 spiritual support as needed.
- Be available to residents and staff, to families of residents for pastoral care, assessment, bereavement and supportive counseling.
- Conduct, or provide resources to community groups and volunteers who provide, spiritual services.
- Conduct spiritual and memorial services.
- Provide religious services to meet the needs of the cognitively impaired.
- Support visiting clergy and volunteers to provide regular ongoing ministry to residents of a wide variety of faiths and cultural groups
What Will You Need:
- Postgraduate Theological degree/diploma or equivalent from a Theological College
- Designation as an authorized Pastoral Care Clinician who is endorsed by faith
- Ministry Experience in a longterm care home or in a similar environment assisting the elderly with spiritual guidance
- Minimum of two advanced units from the Canadian Association for Pastoral Practices and Educations
- Computer skills and CPR certification is an asset
