We are seeking applications for an Educational Assistant to work with students, to prepare them for the grades ahead. This position requires an applicant who works well under pressure and in energetic environments while upholding the values of the division. This role requires pertinence, kindness, and resiliency, and an understanding of the importance, of this role, for our students, colleagues, and community.

Tilley School is a beautiful new school serving a student population of approximately 90, in grades pre-kindergarten to 9 and is located approximately 15 minutes southwest of Brooks. Students receive a full range of academic offerings in addition to a well-developed options program, including access to a fully operational mobile CTS construction lab. The school also offers a Hockey Canada Skills Academy for students

Job Duties:

support students in instruction as well as social and behavioral needs

encourage positive interactions between students and staff;

work closely and collaboratively with school staff including, but not limited to, classroom teachers and administration;

position may include activities such as lifting, transferring, and providing personal care, as necessary; and

position may have involvement in student school activities such as swimming or outdoor sports and may require the EA to participate with students.

Strong communication skills; written, verbal and reading

Ability to assist with all subject areas

Excellent problem solving, organizational and multitasking skills

Understanding and appreciation of Grasslands Public Schools mission and values

Education and Certifications:

High School diploma

postsecondary training is an asset
