Prairie Machine is a global leader in the manufacture and supply of equipment, battery operated electric vehicles and technical solutions for heavy industrial and mining industries.
The Material Handler ensures that the correct parts are where they need to be on the shop floor to maximize production efficiency.
Primary Responsibilities
- Obtain correct parts from inventory and deliver them to appropriate location
- Ensure parts are available when needed on production floor
- Ensure all part transactions are processed properly and with a high degree of accuracy
- Haul out chipbin and waste bins daily/as required
- Write nonconformance reports if cleanliness and deburring on parts is inadequate
- Provide general labor/assistance to production floor
- Other duties as required
Department Specific Expectations
- Understand Prairie Machine's Scheduling needs and adherence
- Understand the manufacturing process
- Work closely with warehousing and shipping
- Communicate with other departments to ensure schedule and quality needs are met
- Gain working knowledge of the procurement process
- Understand the reporting process in regard to Safety and Quality
General Expectations
- Follow prescribed safety standards, rules and regulations, ensuring all workers comply
- Understand and participate in Prairie Machine's Health and Safety program by Instilling a safety culture; leading by example
- Understand and participate in Prairie Machine's Quality System
- Identify and record nonconformities and participate in their resolution
- Recommend improvements and develop improvement plans in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions
- Maintain a wellorganized and clean facility as per Prairie Machine vision
- Maintain all equipment and tools per recommended procedures
- Ability to work as a respectable, professional and efficient team member
- Maintain a healthy work environment and develop employees on a professional level
- Participate and attend Meetings when required
- Participate in continuous improvement projects and ideas
Qualifications
- Completion of Grade 12 or GED
- 12 years of laborer experience
- Experience with ERP systems is an asset
- Experience with picking orders is an asset
- Forklift Certification is an asset
- Detail orientated & high degree of organization
Compensation
- Position pays approximately $17 $23 hourly salaries vary depending on various factors, such as skill, ability, experience and qualifications for the role
- Overtime may be available
Shifts Available
- 4 x 10 hour shifts Monday Thursday
- 4 X 10 hour shifts Tuesday Friday
- 5 X 8 hour shifts Monday Friday
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary:
$17.00-$23.00 per hour
