We are currently searching for an independent self-starter with three to five years of solid truck and rail logistics experience to join our Domestic Division team in Toronto.

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the timely movement of product to meet contractual commitments and customer needs.


Other key responsibilities include:

  • Sound knowledge of logistics processes and documentation requirements to be applied on a daily fashion.
  • Acquaintance with trucking companies and rail services in North America, mainly on agricultural regions in the Eastern and Western (prairies) areas of Canada.
  • Ability to coordinate accurately daily activity between the origination locations and the freight companies, to ensure the agricultural goods are shipped in the most timely and efficient manner
  • Exceptional customer service focus and support to clientele.
  • Ability to schedule, plan and complete executions of shipments from origin to destination, including high maintenance accounts with multiple changes and readjustments in their orders.
  • Negotiation of domestic freight and reconciliation with transport carriers of their service invoices in line with the rates agreed.
  • Constant access and use of the company software to record every shipment order against the appropriate contractual obligations. Management of logistics and contract reports.
  • Attention to detail and thorough, accurate transaction records
  • Ability to Identify/manage risks and opportunities during the logistics process in order to ensure optimum results
  • Ability to answer questions regarding sourcing from internal and external customers as needed
  • Participation in Logistics projects by managing new initiatives as they arise
***Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree education or related certificate credentials
  • Experience in Grain Logistics and knowledge on the futures pricing and CBOT Trade Management will be considered an asset
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of solid experience in Logistics for an North American trade company or shipping/trucking company
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem solving, decision making, negotiation, influencing and team building skills;
  • Demonstrated solid experience in Microsoft Office Applications
