Description
Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A), the Business Development Manager supports our company's growth by contributing to our strategic acquisition efforts through sourcing potential companies that add both geographic and product diversity to our Canadian operations.
The Business Development Manager will also support the team by providing analysis of potential opportunities and working with all departments on an implementation strategy for successful acquisitions.
Job Duties:
- Identify, research, and evaluate potential acquisition targets and assist in managing the M&A pipeline
- Gather financial statements and operational metrics for analysis
- Assist in developing financial models to rank potential targets, identifying synergies and projecting postclose performance
- Assist in preparing acquisition reporting and strategic growth planning communication with both local and US based leadership teams
- Coordinate, plan and perform various due diligence procedures of potential targets
- Populate data rooms where applicable
- Support information sharing with outside legal, financial, environmental, insurance, tax and operational consultants and advisors as required
- Understand asset and share purchase agreements, noncompete agreements, employment agreements and other legal documentation as required
- Support contract negotiations
- Facilitate integration process with team members throughout the organization
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activities
- Other duties as assigned from time to time
