Job Purpose:
Contributes to the overall success of the Global Payment Operations in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
- Works in collaboration with the operational team to ensure timely payment of vendor invoices aligned to internal policies and procedures
- Maintains operating procedures for payments processing and oversight
- Supports the Manager to oversee the process to capture accurate and reliable accounting entries for payments
- Interacts remotely with payments processing personnel in Global Business Services campus (Bogota, Colombia)
- Prepares payment processing performance and operations SLAs / KPIs / KRIs
- Conducts analysis of payment data to gather insights
- Acts as Business Partner to advise on BU specific payment approval, submission processes, and responds to BU escalations
- Contributes to the maintenance of SOX documentation and complies with internal audit reviews and resolves audit findings
- Facilitates onboarding and training of staff
- Prepare job aids that proactively help to reduce support volume and resolution times.
- Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in daytoday activities and decisions
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of daytoday business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:
- College Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- University degree in Finance or related studies, a definite asset.
- Excellent knowledge of PeopleSoft AP, SharePoint and MS Office
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively as a team
- Ability to listen, understand and handle employee payment inquiries, problems, or escalations in a timely manner
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Good problemsolving and time management skills
- Excellent flexibility and change management skills
- Demonstrates interest to learn
