Your opportunity:
The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology (LMP) occupies a unique position at the interface between basic biomedical science and clinical practice.
We are an assembly of over 400 investigators, scientists, and clinicians, who educate and mentor trainees pursuing undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate medical studies, engaged in investigating disease mechanisms and patterns and translating new knowledge and discoveries into improved health outcomes for patients and populations.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Acts as first point of contact and resource to the department and hospital sites on faculty appointment processes
- Coordinates all academic appointments, including onboarding, reviews, reappointments and junior promotions
- Drafting, editing, proofreading and factchecking internal and external communications and correspondence on behalf of the Chair
- Providing committee support, including scheduling meetings, developing agendas, taking minutes and following up on action items
- Processing payroll transaction and updating and maintaining HRIS records
Essential Qualifications:
- Advanced College Diploma (3 years) or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
- Knowledge and familiarity with the University of Toronto, Temerty Faculty of Medicine, and affiliated hospital policies and procedures
- Knowledge and experience processing academic appointments
- Experience working with and supporting senior level committees and experience coordinating events
- Experience drafting correspondence and communications with mínimal revisions
- Experience maintaining databases and generating reports
- Experience processing payroll transactions
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite, survey tools, and content management systems
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong customer service skills with an ability to work both independently and effectively with faculty members and other key stakeholders
- Ability to work professionally with confidential information
- Ability to interpret requirements and develop processes and procedures
- Strong attention to detail and document management
- Ability to exercise initiative, tact, discretion, problem‐solving skills and to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Ability to deal effectively with multiple priorities andprojects with conflicting deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and quality
Assets (Nonessential):
- Experience with SAP (HRIS), SuccessFactors, Laserfiche and FOCUS
- Knowledge of clinical (MD) and statusonly faculty appointments
