Long-Term Care and Assisted Living

Creekside Landing in Vernon is a unique campus of care that offers aging couples, seniors, and friends — whose individual care needs differ greatly — the ability to continue to live together in proximity. The campus provides a safe, supportive home and 24-hour nursing care for seniors who can no longer live independently, whether due to physical or cognitive issues.


We are looking for a dedicated, experienced full time Supervisor who will support the Vernon team and ensure that our residents feel at home, surrounded by people that care.

What You Will Do

  • Under the direction of the Support Services Manager, is responsible for ensuring the daytoday operation of the support service departments and its employees dietary, housekeeping and laundry.
  • Participating with the recruiting, supervising, coaching and mentoring department team members.
  • Assist with developing menus in consultation with a registered dietician to ensure nutritional requirements of the Residents are met.
  • Completes audits of the building environment to ensure it is maintained in a clean and sanitary manner, complying with the infection control program.
  • Audits meals and laundry services to ensure Resident satisfaction.
  • Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure specialized diets and textures are accommodated.
  • Maintains an inventory of food items, linen, paper products, cleaning supplies, chemicals, etc.
  • Ensures budgetary controls are in place.
  • Maintains the MSDS binders with current information.
  • Ensures that resident rights are maintained and respected which includes confidentiality.

Your Qualifications - The Must Have's

  • Postsecondary diploma in Culinary Arts, or equivalent (required)
  • Membership with the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (preferred)
  • 3 + years' experience in a leadership role in a longterm care facility
  • FOODSAFE Level 1 &
  • Demonstrated leadership, facilitation and management skills to form cohesive, functioning teams including mentoring and evaluating employees
  • Experience with the recruitment and hiring process
  • Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills coupled with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Computer proficiency with and intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Knowledge of and skills to operate kitchen, laundry and housekeeping equipment
  • Fiscal accountability, in order to manage department resources (staffing, supplies, etc.)
  • Knowledge and understanding of the BC Residential Care Regulations
  • Must provide a Criminal Record Check for the Vulnerable Sector and proof of COVID19 vaccinations

Salary:
$28.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
