Job Description:


Position Summary:

Under the general Supervision of the Supervisor - Administrative Support Services, performs accounting functions, customer service delivery, records management activities, and administrative functions.


Major responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor - Financial Services performs accounting functions, customer service delivery, records management activities, and administrative functions, including, but not limited to, the following:


  • Prepares and maintains records related to infrastructure.
  • Prepares purchase requisitions, goods receipts, purchase orders and processes vendor payments.
  • Performs customer service activities and takes appropriate action for resolution including dispatch.
  • Records requests and resolutions according to Departmental policies and procedures.
  • Performs work order management activities resulting in preventive maintenance & repair schedules.
  • Processes invoices for internal and external services.
  • Monitors and analyzes postings in capital and operating budgets for accuracy and takes corrective action.
  • Audits transactions for credit card expenses.
  • Performs records management activities & manual & computerized filing.
  • Gathers, reviews & analyzes data for preparation of statistical & information reports.
  • Performs administrative functions and stenographic duties including typing, reception, mail, and office supply maintenance.
  • Performs such other related duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications:


Education/Experience:


  • Secondary school graduation; and
  • Postsecondary courses in accounting, or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

Skills & Abilities:


  • Demonstrated skill in communication, both written and oral is essential
  • Must have good customer services skills together with the ability to deal with the public in a tactful and courteous manner
  • Must be at a basic skill level in keyboarding, word processing and spreadsheet software

Condition of Employment

  • Must undergo a successful Criminal Record & Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC)
