Reporting to the Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, you will play an integral role in the legal department to support the business and all its brands including, but not be limited to, contract drafting and negotiation, litigation support, intellectual property and brand protection, licensing, and other general legal support.

We are seeking a proven, driven team player who is looking to join a fast-paced, high growth, energetic and forward-thinking team.

Responsibilities

Reviewing and negotiating contracts with new and existing vendors and third parties
Creating, maintaining, and updating commercial agreements
Proactively liaising with business units on various legal matters to promote overall company growth
Providing support for all litigation matters
Ensuring that inquiries from regulators are dealt with professionally, promptly, and comprehensively
Ensuring that regulatory reports, audits, and license renewals are completed and submitted on time
Providing legal advice on new products, special projects, and miscellaneous issues as they arise
Developing and maintaining positive and effective relationships with various departments

Requirements:

University Law Degree is a requirement
Minimum 23 years post call experience
Member of the Law Society of Ontario
Excellent analytical and legal commentary skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, motivated, and able to multitask
Excellent research skills
Outstanding communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Knowledgeable in the use of databases
