We_ are seeking a knowledgeable Ruminant Nutritionist to join our team at Masterfeeds. As a Ruminant Nutritionist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing innovative and effective ruminant nutrition programs to optimize animal health, welfare, and performance.

Responsibilities:

Work closely with the sales team and producers to provide comprehensive nutritional and technical services to optimize production and profitability.

Formulate and optimize ruminant rations, incorporating the latest research and nutritional principles to ensure optimal milk production, growth, reproduction, and overall health.

Provide ongoing nutritional training and act as a resource for the Alberta sales team.

Conduct field experiments to evaluate the efficacy of feeding programs on performance and health.

Stay current with industry trends, regulations and guidelines related to ruminant nutrition.

Qualifications:

PhD or Master's degree in Animal Science, Ruminant Nutrition, or a related field.

Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Ruminant Nutritionist in the feed industry.

Strong knowledge of ruminant physiology, metabolism, and nutrient requirements.

Experience formulating ruminant rations using software programs such as CNCPS, NRC, or equivalent.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Ability to travel to various farm locations as needed.
