Overview:
Assist Merchandising Manager with planning, buying, staffing, admin and location set up as assigned


Responsibilities:


  • Oversees seasonal hiring, training and development while ensuring all assigned tasks are executed effectively
  • Coordinate with interdepartment partners to ensure all administration assigned is completed and documented appropriately.
  • Assist Manager with all aspects of the Resale merchandising/buying process & execution
  • Assist with operating location as business demands while coaching staff by sharing information to ensure product knowledge of our associates meets guest expectations
  • In conjunction with management team oversee tracking and integrity of product orders, receiving, deliveries/transfers and inventory is maintained
  • Monitor seasonal labour by effectively executing availability, staff schedules and schedule changes as needed
  • Assist with the development of department policies and procedures to maintain excellence in service and quality and to ensure proper controls
  • Monitors the department's financial performance and takes action to meet locations target sales goals
  • Assist with maintaining appropriate inventory levels throughout the season and achieving targeted Cost of Sales as well as targeted closing inventory levels
  • Ensures proper maintenance and cleaning of grounds, facilities and equipment
  • Ability to work shifts, weekends, holidays and evenings is essential

Qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary education in related field or equivalent experience supervising/merchandising in a multifaceted retail operation
  • Proven ability to merchandise locations and assist with all related administration
  • Prior experience hiring, training and development of employees
  • Knowledge of internal controls and POS systems an asset
  • Proven abilities successfully oversee visual merchandising of high volume locations
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Computer literate with strong excel skills
  • Experience with sourcing, buying, budgets, data analysis a definite asset
  • Proven ability to problemsolve, work with strict deadlines and work independently
  • Must have strong judgment and be an innovative problem solver
