About the Opportunity:


Reporting to the Mental Health & Addictions Manager, the Clinical Interventionist takes primary responsibility for overseeing the development, implementation, and coordination of clinical treatment programs for children diagnosed with ASD.

The Clinical Interventionist will also be required to collaborate with members of the team and community partners/ organizations to provide a holistic, client/ family-centered approach.

The Clinical Interventionist is responsible for ensuring compliance with acts, regulations, and standards with the applicable professional body in Nova Scotia as well as acts, regulations, policies, standards, guidelines, mission, and objectives of the Department Mental Health & Addictions and Nova Scotia Health.


About You:

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Masters in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Registration/licensure with the appropriate professional regulatory organization as applicable
  • Extensive experience working with children with behavioral and neurodevelopmental disorders, in particular, autism spectrum disorders
  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in intervention for young children with ASD
  • Demonstrated expertise with the DSM-IV diagnostic system, case management, principles of behavioral management as well as psychological testing
  • Demonstrated ability to formulate and implement treatment plans to promote positive adaptive behaviors, independence and skills development
  • Previous experience providing supervision
  • Demonstrated leadership skills working within a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Demonstrated communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Valid Nova Scotia driver's license
  • Competencies in other languages an asset

Hours:


  • Permanent Fulltime; 75 Hours Biweekly
  • Travel to various sites will be required
