What we are looking for:

In this pivotal role, the Intake Clinician in the Outpatient Mental Health Services will effectively process the intake of newly referred patients


These responsibilities include:

  • Screening all new referrals;
  • Assessing and directing, (as appropriate), new referrals to other internal professionals for treatment (in collaboration with interdisciplinary team) or to external resources as appropriate;
  • Providing initial contact to physicians and other community resources;
  • Provide therapy and group work.


You will also participate on various task forces to assist the Mental Health System in achieving its planned quality management initiatives and Integrated Business Plan.


What you bring to the role:

  • Masters degree in social work
  • Current registration with Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers
  • A minimum of 35 years of relevant experience in a mental health clinical environment
  • Demonstrated experience with conducting intakes and triaging
  • Demonstrated excellent mental health assessment skills
  • Demonstrated clinical experience in leading therapy groups
  • Sound knowledge of the Mental Health Act and other relevant legislation
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Proven effective collaborative skills as a member of a interprofessional team
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development
  • Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards
  • Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required

Work Schedule:

The Outpatient Mental Health Services hours of operation are Monday to Friday, from 08:30-16:30 hours. Applicants may be asked to work some evening hours. Please note schedule may change due to operational needs.


Compensation:


Band I Hourly:
$39.85-$50.77


Annually:
$77,707.50-$99,001.50
