Job Summary:


  • The Program Coordinator
  • Community Relations leads all steps in activities that start and grow community relations to better understand and respond to community needs to improve cancer control and outcomes in Manitoba. The Program Coordinator will work with stakeholders and committees to complete activities including program and project management, supporting grant funded projects, planning and hosting communityfocused events using inperson, virtual and hybrid methods. _

Qualifications:


_Required:
_

- _Bachelor's degree in either: Health Services Management, Human Resources, Business Administration, Volunteer Management, Management or other health related field is required. A combination of related education and experience may be considered._
- _Supervised for at least 3 years _
- _Managed projects for at least 3 _
- _Planned programs for at least 2 years _
- _Evaluation for at least 2 years _
- _Worked with communities (community engagement/development) for at least 3 years_
- _Able to show an understanding of health equity. Able to explain how health equity effects patient care, experience and results _
- _Able to show an awareness of equity deserving populations (groups that are at risk of not getting enough access to cancer care). For example, First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples, newcomers, sexual and gender minorities, older adults, and individuals who are geographically isolated. _
- _Worked respectfully with First Nations, Métis and Inuit partners _
- _Skills in writing, speaking, listening, public speaking and presenting_
- _Worked with many partners_
- _Organization skills and attention to detail_
- _Able to work on several projects at the same time_
- _Able to problem solve and use good judgement_
- _Able to work on their own and with a team_
- _Good skills working with others_
- _Must be able to begin and keep positive relationships with all staff and the public_
- _Skills in computer work, such as the internet, Windows platforms and Microsoft programs including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project _
- _Used web-based meeting tools such as MS Teams and Zoom_
- _Evening and weekend work may occur_
- _Some travel may occur_
- _Valid Class 5 Drivers License _
- _Good record of employment_
- _Able to legally work in Canada_
- _Able to lift and carry items of up to approximately 25 pounds._
