Job Purpose:


  • Reporting to the Floor Manager, Food and Beverage, the Supervisor, Front of House is responsible for the daily operation of the Food and Beverage Outlet(s) to which they are assigned, as directed by Management. Supervisors will interact with customers and employees to create a unique and positive customer experience and to coach/ mentor Food and Beverage Department employees. The Supervisor will also assist in helping the Food and Beverage operation to achieve a high level of operational efficiency while ensuring staff adhere to standard operating procedures. The role of the Supervisor will include additional activities as assigned by the Floor Manager or Senior Manager.

Responsibilities:


  • Interact and communicate in a positive manner with staff and customers to ensure food service and quality meet or exceed department standards.
  • Smile Present a pleasant, friendly style.
  • Lead Shift meetings in absence of Senior Manager/Floor Manager.
  • Ensure facility is presentable and properly set up prior to opening.
  • Review & adjust schedule on a daily basis to ensure staffing levels are maintained in proportion to business volumes, including calling in staff to fill shifts as required. Notify Senior Manager/Floor Manager of any discrepancies.
  • Review daily log and equipment checklists to address any outstanding issues or concerns as directed by Senior Manager/Floor Manager.
  • Communicate with other Food and Beverage Managers to ensure consistency among Food & Beverage leadership and to ensure all issues and concerns are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Conduct regular follow ups on all operational issues, food issues and/or staff concerns.
  • Monitor and train employees as per the Food & Beverage training program, and as directed by the Senior Manager.
  • Maintain a visible presence on the floor at all times and provide break coverage as needed.
  • Perform the duties of frontline Food & Beverage employees as required, in order to offer assistance when needed, and to maintain guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor quality of buffet and à la carte plates, and communicate any concerns to the kitchen management immediately.
  • Assist Management with organizing and implementing any special themes or promotions.
  • Ensure all signage is accurate and uptodate.
  • Communicate any positive/negative customer comments relating to food to the kitchen management.
  • Advise senior kitchen management of any tour groups or reservations at beginning of shift.
  • Distribute floats to Bartenders.
  • Ensure cleanliness of work areas, and that all damaged items or equipment problems are reported.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Floor Manager.
  • Play a direct role towards improving and maintaining the service score of the assigned outlet(s).
  • Conduct table checks for food and service quality on 90% of covers per shift.
  • Be an ambassador for the Casinos of Winnipeg to all customers.
  • Welcome and greet customers coming into and leaving the facility.
  • Provide service with a focus on finding first time customers, creating regular customers, and continuously recognizing existing regular customers.
  • Organize special seating arrangements and F&B requirements.
  • As required, track customer attendance numbers hourly and ensure room does not exceed licensed capacity.
  • Address questions and concerns in a timely manner.
  • Portray a professional and hospitable image at all times.

Primary Qualifications:


  • Completion of a Grade XII High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
  • Basic skills in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) are required.
  • Red River College Hospitality diploma is an asset.
  • A Training certificate (e.g., "Training in the Workplace" through the Manitoba Tourism and Education Council), is an asset.
  • Additional courses in customer service and supervision/management is an asset.
  • The incumbent is required to obtain a Serving It Safe certificate (previously It's Good Business) through the Manitoba Tourism and Education Council (MTEC). Certification may be acquired while on the job.
