Job Description:


MLSE Sport Performance Lab is seeking a
Biomechanist on a 12-month contract to conduct biomechanical research across multiple sports and team operations.

This individual will coordinate with various stakeholders across MLSE to execute immediate and long-term strategic research initiatives as it pertains to athletic performance.


Responsibilities:


  • Assist in the development of biomechanical tools for player evaluation, development, and health in collaboration with various team performance staff.
  • Identify areas of shared research interest across team operations and drive the implementation of a unified data model to support crosssport innovation.
  • Work closely with external academic and corporate partners on initiatives that align with strategic research goals.

Qualifications:


  • Strong academic or proven experience in Biomechanics, preferably in a highperformance sport environment.
  • Showed strength working in large data sets, performing biomechanical analyses, and scripting using languages such as Python or R.
  • Experience conducting basic research in the topics of sports science and high performance, demonstrating high levels of knowledge translation abilities.
  • Skilled in analyzing, visualizing, and drawing insights from spatiotemporal data.
  • A strong grasp of the sports industry, including the data providers and problem space.
  • Thrives in a fastpaced setting; can handle multiple priorities at the same time.
  • A positive, winning, and creative approach, incorporating integrity, confidentiality, and discretion.
  • Strong understanding of onfield rules and offfield regulations of various sports is an asset
  • Additional experience in healthrelated fields (e.g., human anatomy, exercise physiology, physiotherapy, athletic therapy) is a bonus.
  • Knowledge of SQL is a bonus.
