Job Description:

MLSE Sport Performance Lab is seeking a
Biomechanist on a 12-month contract to conduct biomechanical research across multiple sports and team operations.

This individual will coordinate with various stakeholders across MLSE to execute immediate and long-term strategic research initiatives as it pertains to athletic performance.

Responsibilities:

Assist in the development of biomechanical tools for player evaluation, development, and health in collaboration with various team performance staff.
Identify areas of shared research interest across team operations and drive the implementation of a unified data model to support crosssport innovation.
Work closely with external academic and corporate partners on initiatives that align with strategic research goals.

Qualifications:

Strong academic or proven experience in Biomechanics, preferably in a highperformance sport environment.
Showed strength working in large data sets, performing biomechanical analyses, and scripting using languages such as Python or R.
Experience conducting basic research in the topics of sports science and high performance, demonstrating high levels of knowledge translation abilities.
Skilled in analyzing, visualizing, and drawing insights from spatiotemporal data.
A strong grasp of the sports industry, including the data providers and problem space.
Thrives in a fastpaced setting; can handle multiple priorities at the same time.
A positive, winning, and creative approach, incorporating integrity, confidentiality, and discretion.
Strong understanding of onfield rules and offfield regulations of various sports is an asset
Additional experience in healthrelated fields (e.g., human anatomy, exercise physiology, physiotherapy, athletic therapy) is a bonus.
Knowledge of SQL is a bonus.
