The BMO Financial Group Finance Research and Trading Lab is a high-tech facility that enables students, faculty and staff to interact with the global financial community and its resources in a real-time setting.
The FRT-Lab provides a focal point for research and training in a range of financial disciplines including:
investment strategy and portfolio management; financial engineering and risk management; trading; and, analysis of the microstructure of markets.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing or modifying project schedules
- Reviewing and assessing requirements needed to meet project timelines
- Researching, analyzing and recommending solutions to project challenges
- Coordinating tasks forprojects and other strategic initiatives with stakeholders
- Gathering information in preparation for planning reports
- Drafting progress reports for project leader's review
- Resolving issues identified in project planning reports
- Implementing project communications plans
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree (Finance, MIS, Project Management, Management, Economics, Marketing); or acceptable combination of equivalent education and experience
- Minimum five (5) years recent and relevant experience in a project coordination role
- Experience developing project plans, strategic plans, and/or other project coordination documents
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to facilitate community consultations and build stakeholder relationships
- Experience organizing activities for events and/or programming including workshops, seminars, and small conferences
- Experience coordinating meeting schedules, agendas, materials, action and followup items
- Experience with financial record keeping including reviewing invoices and tracking budgets
- Experience with, or exposure to, grant writing
- Advanced skills and experience using Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Forms, etc.
- Experience with updating websites and social media accounts, including drafting and editing content for print and/or online communications channels
- Flexibility and demonstrated initiative to work in a fastpaced, ambiguous, and changing environment
- Proven ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Assets (Nonessential):
- Completed,or on track to complete, PMI-PMP Certification or a certified project management course

This is a 2-year term
