Description

The British Columbia Ministry of Health's Office of Patient-Centred Measurement (OPCM), based at Providence Health Care, oversees the planning and implementation of a large-scale patient survey program across the province.

The Office of the Seniors Advocate has commissioned the OPCM to implement a provincially coordinated, scientifically rigorous approach for engaging seniors living in BC's publicly funded care homes to provide feedback about their life and their quality of life in long term residential care.

The Lead for the Volunteer Engagement Program, or internally known as Regional Engagement Leads (RELs), for this survey project will hold primary responsibility for
implementing a centralized and standardized model for recruiting, screening, on-boarding, deploying and training approximately to over 800 volunteers, who - using a standardized interview methodology and questionnaire - will conduct interviews with residents in approximately 300 care homes overall across each of BC's five geographic health authorities.

RELs will play a critical role in the continuous improvement of the survey administration protocols and the training curriculum and materials.

If the guiding principle that "at the heart of every data point in healthcare is a person" speaks to you and if you want to help us to ensure the voices of frail older adults living in residential in BC are presented as "statistics without the tears wiped off ", then we want to hear from you
