As a
Specialist, Privacy you will be able to provide solutions, prepare reports, meet deadlines and continuously stay up to date with current regulatory compliance trends.

Strong knowledge of the Credit Union and Banking regulations as well as compliance methodologies is critical.

In this role you must demonstrate solid risk evaluation techniques while being able to effectively and proactively prioritize criticality of work.

Periodically, in-person events or activities will be required of you.


A typical day would involve:


  • Researching, identifying and summarizing new and amended regulatory and legislative corporate compliance requirements for Vancity Credit Union and Vancity Community Investment Bank.
  • Preparing and updating quarterly compliance and privacy reports for the Board.
  • Preparing and updating the annual compliance policies and legislation for senior management.
  • Responding to general compliance and privacy inquiries and conduct required research so that internal and external stakeholders receive accurate and timely information.
  • Conducting research on special topics as directed by the Manager.

You are:

A privacy industry expert - you possess the knowledge and understanding of current practices, legislation and regulations of financial institutions

Tech-savvy
  • People often say you're a quick learner and great with technology & systems

You have:


  • Post Secondary Education/Diploma (Business or related discipline)
  • CIPP (Certified Information Privacy Professional)

Bonus Points:


  • 2+ years Compliance experience
  • Financial Industry experience
  • Bank & Credit Union regulatory knowledge

The Team:


  • The Specialist Compliance & Privacy reports directly into the Director, Enterprise Compliance.

Salary Range:
$52,345.00 to $78,461.00
