  • The Friends_ is recruiting Independent Living Assistants in the Parry Sound area. Independent Living Assistants provide service to individuals with physical disabilities and/or seniors by supporting them to live independently in their homes by assisting with activities of daily living and supporting client ability to gain/maintain independence.


  • The Friends_ provide community support through a variety of programs. As an I.L.A. you will have a flexible work schedule with a diverse group of clients allowing you to develop a broad range of skills in your career development. You will have the option to cross train in other programs. Whether you work onsite in our housing program or visit individual client homes in the community, educational opportunities and a comprehensive on the job training program with all levels of our dedicated team will contribute to your success.

Qualifications:

- interest/experience supporting seniors and adults with physical disabilities living in their own home
- background/training in health related field is an asset but not necessary
- understanding of and commitment to independent living and client right to direct their own care
- excellent physical strength and stamina
- ability to work with direction and independently
- strong verbal and written communication skills
- sound judgment and discretion in confidential matters
- reliable vehicle

Job Types:
Part-time, Permanent, Casual

Part-time hours: 10-37 per week


Salary:
$22.00-$25.00 per hour
