Ace Hotel Toronto is our first-ever spot in Canada, built from the ground up in the heart of the Fashion District, near St.

Andrew's Playground Park.

Our civic hub here is animated by a legacy of homegrown magic, spurred by ingenious types with off-the-wall ideas who've long made the multicultural mosaic of this city their home — from Queen West and Chinatown to the famed Horseshoe Tavern and on down to the shimmering shores of Lake Ontario.


Responsible for the leadership of all aspects of the day to day operations of all Events in Ace Hotel, including Alder, The Lobby, Evangeline and Events.

Directs, implements and maintains a service and leadership philosophy which serves as a guide to respective staff.

Works closely with the Director of Food & Beverage & Director of Outlets to monitor the effectiveness of all services and products offered in the outlets and adjust accordingly to ensure maximum profitability of the outlets.


Responsible for providing in-service leadership to all F&B operations when events are not scheduled.
CORE FOCUS & ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
may be assigned.

  • Execute detailed events flawlessly, such as group meetings, weddings, socials, etc.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of food, beverage and décor trends
  • Understand the operational flow of the venue and service standards
  • Collaborate with all departments at Ace Hotel and foster team environment
  • Attend BEO Meetings, Pre-Con, Staff, and other meetings as needed.
  • Fulfill day of the event duties, such as introducing the service team to the client (a handoff) and making certain that the event is properly set-up for success.
  • Maintain accurate client files within approved guidelines
  • Exemplify a solid work ethic, Ace Hotel professional image and promote a team environment
  • Assists in maintaining control on all expenses, including labor.
  • Maintain open lines of communication between Events and all other departments.
  • Maintain working knowledge of POS system.
  • Inspect grooming standards and correct any deficiencies.
  • Coordinate requisitions with the team to avoid over or under inventories.
  • Know menu items, preparation and service requirements for assigned function.
  • Inspect function areas for cleanliness, safety hazards, correct furniture set up and amount for the guarantee.
  • Be informed of groups' names and backgrounds and share this information, as needed.
  • Maintain constant communication with group contact, staff, and kitchen.
  • Check to make sure that proper equipment and the necessary working
stock is available to staff prior to the start of their shift.

  • Meet with the team to review guarantee, set up, special requests, service requirements and timing.
  • Handle guest service recovery opportunities with assistance from leadership

SUPPORTING FUNCTIONS

  • Attend and conduct meetings as required.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge of the competition's product.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all hotel services/features and hours of operation.
  • Craft reports on events to recap for the property and Atelier.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
At least 2 years' experience in events services at a high-end hotel, catering company or special event venue. Effective leadership and collaboration skills as a leader. Require availability to work flexible hours and weekends. Outstanding interpersonal, professional and presentation skills
- you will be the main connection between Ace Hotel and the client. Exceptional written & verbal communication skills. Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills. Proficient in computer skills
  • Microsoft Office, Squirrel, and other event software systems (or similar).

Salary:
$55,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
