Monday to Friday; 35 hours/week

Fennell (hybrid work arrangements available)


Rate of Pay:
Payband 10 ($85,528 - $106,911 per year)

What you'll be doing:

Project Management
-
Define project scope, goals and deliverables for the XR development project after meeting with stakeholders and client.

  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion at all times during the project.
  • Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate all project meetings.
  • Work with all stakeholders to gather requirements, determine outcomes success metrics.
  • Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team; analyse results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
  • Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.
  • Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.

Agile Scrum implementation
-
Manage the projects using Jira, ensuring the backlog is in place and in priority order.

  • Track project milestones, deliverables and team progress using burndown charts, velocity metrics and other tools.
  • Act as the Scrum Master, implementing and leading scrum elements such as daily standups, sprint planning, sprint demos and retrospectives.
  • Works with the team to create, prioritize and manage the backlog.
  • Ensure an agile mindset extends to all team members.

Research and User Testing
-
Working with the client, outline the needs for the REB and complete the REB documentation.

  • Ensure protocols for testing are submitted to REB when necessary.
  • Book research participants and carry out user testing with students or other stakeholders.
  • Run XR simulations including basic downloading and setup, for demonstrations and user testing.
  • Collect qualitative and quantitative data for analysis.
  • Assist in writing research papers.
  • Complete any reports required by external funders.

Marketing and Business Development
-
Meet with Industry representatives to explore possible joint projects in Applied Research or fee-for-service.

  • Create marketing messages, banners etc. to advertise the XR Innovation Studio.
  • Design, coordinate and give workshops on Immersive and XR Technology to faculty, highlighting the services of the XR Innovation Studio.
  • Participate in Open Houses, events, conferences and meetings externally as needed to showcase the work of the XR team.

Other Duties as Assigned

Free to travel between all campuses.


What you'll bring to the role:


  • A minimum 3 year diploma/degree.
  • Disciplined Agile Scrum Master Certification from PMI Institute or similar.
  • Five years experience working on a team that depends on each other for success.
  • Five years of relevant experience (i.e. managing projects, preferably in Immersive Technology).
  • Two years experience leading Agile Scrum on a development team.
  • Experience managing broad set of stakeholders.
  • Experience communicating (orally and written) to various levels faculty, Associate Deans, Deans, Industry CEOs/directors/Lead Developers and Designers.
  • Previous experience in team management is an asset.
  • Experience at working both independently and in a teamoriented, collaborate environment.
  • Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problemsolving capabilities.
  • Highly proficient with technology
  • Office, Jira, Steam, Oculus.
  • Project Management, collaboration & engagement skills must be able to achieve buyin amongst multiple stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Effective management skills including excellent human relations skills, conflict resolution skills, and understanding of research protocols and processes are needed.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Solid negotiation, conflict resolution and team building skills.
  • Adept at creative thinking and diverging on new ideas, strong critical thinking skills.
  • Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.
  • Ability to bring project to successful completion through political sensitivity.
