Position Description:

Main job responsibilities include:

  • Participate in oncall duties in rotation weekend work expected
  • Point of escalations for offshore Level 1 and Level 2 for incident management
  • Handle outage resolution conference calls, managing significant incidents and coordinating communications
  • Conduct rootcause analysis for major problems and drive the troubleshooting to resolution
  • Coordinate infrastructure changes and upgrades
  • Review existing practices to strive for continuous improvement
  • The role is on a 24x7 global team.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills:

  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Experience with Linux System Administration preferably Red Hat
  • Experience with Perl, Python or Linux shell scripting
  • Good understanding of communication and routing protocols to troubleshoot Network connectivity issues
  • Familiar with monitoring, alerting and analyzing system metrics to identify problems and understanding system behavior
  • Familiar to analyze network traffic to debug configuration through various tools
  • Process improvement by proactively identifying, analyzing, and improving upon existing processes.
  • Familiar with operational concepts such as SLA, metrics, and alerts
  • Ability to work in a 24x7 global team
  • Interest and understanding of emerging IT trends.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with web architecture including performance, availability, scalability, and disaster recovery, capacity planning
  • Experience with security implementations including Kerberos, DMZ, SSL, firewalls, proxy servers
  • Knowledge of Linux lightweight containers and virtualization
  • Knowledge of publish subscribe and message queue systems
  • Knowledge of NoSQL databases
  • Knowledge of loadbalancing and working with content delivery networks to improve the reliability and reduce the latency
  • Knowledge of RDBMS databases.
