Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient
- centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.


Position Overview:

Under the general supervision of the Director of Health Services and in collaboration with the Manitoba Renal Program stakeholders


Provincial educational program development for:

  • Renal Nursing staff including R.N.s, L.P.N.s, R.P.N.s., U.A.s, N.A.s, U.C.s and Dialysis Technicians.
  • Provincial teaching and learning activities.
  • Nursing practice standards.
  • Patient education development.
  • Professional and Self Development.

Note:

The priority and percentages of each of the above functions will vary throughout the year and possibly from year to year.

Time spent at individual sites will vary depending on need as assessed from time to time by the Provincial Nurse Educator.


Experience:


  • Minimum 3 years' experience within Renal nursing environment within Manitoba.
  • Previous experience in leadership, teaching, education, program development and evaluation.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate):


  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing required.
  • Master's Degree in Nursing is preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Courses in LEADS/Lean 6 Sigma.
  • Courses in adult learning principles and teach strategies.
  • Courses effective online course delivery.

SPECIAL TRAINING:


  • Completion of the MNNC required.
  • Highly competent computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Excel, eKHR).

Certification/Licensure/Registration:


  • Must be registered or eligible for registration with the College of Nurses of Manitoba (C.R.N.M.)

  • Demonstrate efficient evidencebased literature searches to promote accurate education and policy development.
  • Complex innovative problemsolving skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders to promote. operationalization of standard practice adherence.
  • Demonstrate effective change management, time management, and risk assessment skills.
  • Exhibit initiative, and flexibility.
  • Evidence of knowledge of the principles of adult learning and teaching strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to function creatively and independently.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continued professional development.
  • Ability to organize and complete assignments with minimum supervision. Willingness to adapt to new concepts, technologies, techniques and best practices in both academic and clinical fields of health care and education.
  • Initiates and supports change.

NOTE:
Hours of work are flexible and may include evening, night or weekend shifts as required. May require travel.

  • Good physical and mental health.
