PROJECT CONTROLS SPECIALIST

The Project Controls Specialist is responsible for managing project controls.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Lean an integrated approach to Project Controls across the organization in areas of Cost Management, Schedule Management and Risk and Opportunity Management.
  • Support the delivery and implementation of new initiatives.
  • Ensure that the delivery areas include establishment of baseline budget, control of budget, assessment of Actual Cost of Work Performed, production of Estimate at Completion, final closeout of costs and provision of accurate cashflow forecasts.
  • Ensure that the delivery areas include establishment and maintenance of the baseline plan, progress updates, planning reviews, short term lookahead plans, S-Curves, Gantt Charts and forecast completion status.
  • Ensure that the delivery areas include risk register, project risk reporting including top ten risks, bubble diagrams, Monte Carlo Analysis, Tornado Diagrams, P80 analysis, cost risk analysis and schedule risk analysis.
  • Ensure Project Controls capitalizes from Lessons Learned and is performed in accordance with best practice, striving to mitigate risk, promoting safety and integrity consistently.
  • Develop Generis Projects Cost Structure and Cost Account Codes Directory under standards Work Breakdown Structures for various generic project types.
  • Prepare project cost estimate of resources and other expenses through discussions with functional leaders in a timely manner using generic cost structure, which is suitable for cost tracking in the project life cycle.
  • Prepare "Budgeted Cost of Work Scheduled", discuss, and agree with the functional leaders.
  • Revise project cost estimate at the end of every reporting period to generate "Forecast At Completion".
  • Facilitate and provide information to Accounts Department for accrued invoices at required frequency or predetermined project payment milestones so the invoices can be issued to the clients and maintain invoice Register.
  • Perform cost analysis and advise project leaders on cost overruns in a timely manner so the corrective actions can be taken.
  • Assist in preparing cost estimation, tracking and control procedure and continuously look at the ways of improving processes and revise procedure accordingly.

WORK EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL LEVEL:


  • Bachelor's in commerce, Accounting or Finance or equivalent is desirable.
  • Excellent numerical skills and accuracy.
  • Excellent MS Excel skills.
  • Cost Database experience,
  • Experience of cost control for projects.
  • Good Team Player,
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong track record of sound data analysis with ability to make judgements on the quality of data.
