Job Summary
- The Registrar's Office (RO) is a large, multiunit, multisite operation involved in the entire academic experience of Dalhousie students, from recruitment and admissions through to convocation and beyond. Reporting to the Associate Director, Recruitment (International), the Assistant Registrar is an integral part of the recruitment and admission team, which is responsible for the activities related to the recruitment and admission of undergraduate students to Dalhousie.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in programs related to recruiting and admitting undergraduate students to Dalhousie, with a primary focus on the Canadian market, but increasingly other pathways (e.g. international, transfer, mature, etc.). Research recruitment markets domestically and sometimes internationally.
- Participate in market recruitment strategies including but not limited to school visits, career/college fairs and alumni events, campus tours, parent information sessions. Represent the university at high school career fairs, visits, etc. in an effort to acquaint prospective students, guidance counselors, parents and community members with the opportunities available at Dalhousie.
- Provide academic advising on program offerings to prospective and new students.
Note
The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree with a minimum of three to five years' related administrative experience in a postsecondary environment (or equivalent combination of training and experience).
- Considerable experience with public speaking and oneonone communication.
- Knowledge of high school programs in Atlantic Canada and beyond.
