Bring your supervisor experience to our team of Community Service super heroes.


The Assistant Supervisor should have knowledge or ability to interpret legislation, working in a high-volume environment and have experience managing a virtual team with respect to engagement, performance and workforce management.

This position should have an understanding of the demographic the Ministry provides services to, including persons with disabilities, mental health, homelessness and addiction issues.

The Service Delivery Division provides income and disability assistance services online, by phone, or face to face in our communities.

Job Requirements:


  • Postsecondary certificate/diploma or higher in Social Services, Public Administration, Business Administration, and at least two (2) years' related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Related Experience must include all of the following:

  • Experience leading staff in a high volume, rapidly changing customer service environment, through activities such as coaching, evaluating performance, providing direction to employees, orienting/training, and scheduling.
  • Experience using analytics to monitor performance.
  • Experience providing services to citizens from diverse backgrounds, including but not limited to, citizens with mental and physical health issues including substance use issues, and citizens who may be in crisis, impacted by trauma, and displaying frustration.
  • Experience planning, directing, monitoring, organizing, assessing and/or controlling of the resources of an organization.
  • Experience working in a social service environment.
Preferences

  • Experience working in the community with citizens and community partners.
  • Experience supervising in a virtual environment.
