  • This role is eligible for hybrid work in any of the listed locations at the discretion of the hiring manager. This means you'll have the flexibility of working from home and in the office, on a scheduled rotation once probation requirements have been met. Until then, the successful incumbent will be expected to work onsite, fulltime.


The Driver Education Assessment Coordinator assesses, audits, and evaluates certified Class 1 driver educators and driver training schools throughout Saskatchewan.

This position monitors the performance of certified driver educators and audits the certified driving schools. Majority of the work is performed away from established headquarters and requires regular travel, including extended overnight stays.

  • KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Assesses, audits, and evaluates the performance of certified driver educators and driving schools.
  • Provides expertise and guidance to driver educators and driving schools within the province.
  • Investigates and handles customer complaints and carries out disciplinary actions or terminations of certified educators or schools, if necessary.
  • Ensures proper and consistent training is delivered to customers by Saskatchewan driver educators. If weaknesses in training are found, makes recommendations to improve course content and delivery methods.
  • Ensures educators maintain proper records and makes recommendations to modify actions to adhere to regulations.
  • Liaises with certified educators and schools to inform them of any policy or procedural changes and responds to inquiries.
  • Prepares detailed status reports identifying problems or areas that require attention and delivers feedback, education, and training where required.
  • Assists on projects as required.
  • Prepares and presents information and training seminars for both internal and external customers.
  • Recommends changes to the driver training standards and policy manuals.
  • Conducts evaluations on Class 1 driver educators' inclass and incab performance in locations across Saskatchewan.
  • Prepares and delivers presentations to internal and external customers.
  • Responds to inquiries related to the driver training regulations and _The Traffic Safety Act_ from internal and external customers.
  • Assesses and reviews content delivered to new instructors by third party training companies, ensuring the level of training meets SGI standards and delivery guidelines.

Demonstrates that the Health, Safety and Emergency Management Policy is applied in area of responsibility for self and others.- TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS- Knowledge of Class 1 licensing curricula and teaching methods. Knowledge of road safety issues and traffic safety initiatives. Knowledge of transportation field as it relates to vehicle safety, driver condition, legislation, and licensing to enforce policies and regulation. Knowledge of the Class 1 MELT in-class, in-yard, on-road training procedures and standards. Knowledge of the assessment and evaluation processes. Skill in interviewing, investigating, and coaching. Knowledge of the Driver Licensing and Driver Training Regulations of _The Traffic Safety Act_.EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS- Two-year diploma from an accredited post-secondary education institution in a relevant field of study, such as Business, or defined equivalency. Certified Driver Examiner Designation from AAMVA (American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators). Certified Class 1 Driver Instructor. Class 1 driver's licence with Air Brake endorsement. Satisfactory driver's abstract. Certification in adult education.- EXPERIENCE

  • 5 years' experience in:


  • Class 1 Driver Education.-

  • Operating Class 1 vehicles, including air brake systems, NSC, hours of service, and vehicle inspection requirements

Pay Range:
$59, $75,684.00
