SUMMARY OF RESPONSBILITIES:


  • Responsible for performing routine ground service equipment inspections, repairs, and service to equipment such as tugs, towbars, GPUs, water carts etc., working alongside the Supervisor, GSE to correct findings from inhouse and contractor inspections;
  • Inspect equipment to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions using OEM recommendations and a pre‐established check sheet;
  • Repair and occasionally overhaul assigned ground support equipment and machinery to ensure it is maintained in a safe and operational condition (including, but not limited to, tugs, GPU's, tow bars, antiicing cart and lav cart);
  • Complete calibration inspections on equipment prior to its expiry date;
  • Sign in/out and escort contractors as per Skyservice Security policies;
  • Maintain an organized system for all documentation and parts inventory;
  • Ongoing management of the relationship and communication within all departments, tenants, and landlords;
  • Provide investigative support and weekly reports to Manager for all quality assurance, safety matters for equipment operations;
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:


  • Minimum 3 years' of heavy mechanical experience with vehicles and/or other mechanical equipment;
  • Completion of a Heavy Equipment Technician certificate or similar;
  • Must be able to obtain a valid airport RAIC and AVOP;
  • Experience as a Lineservice/Ramp Attendant is an asset;
  • Must be a team player with strong customer service skills;
  • Must lead by example perform duties in accordance with established policies and procedures while giving primary consideration to personal safety for coworkers and customers;
  • Knowledge of various hand tools and supporting equipment;
  • Ability to safely lift 70lbs;
  • Must be willing to work in all types of weather conditions;
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and be on call as required.
