Mississauga Terminal
A full-time
Dock Foreman position is available at our Mississauga location.


Shift Details:
Sunday-Thursday - 4 PM to 1am AM


Responsibilities:


  • Understand operational procedures specifically the dock, yard, and dispatch operations.
  • Supervise and assign staff for loading and unloading.
  • Assist staff in the loading, sorting and unloading of freight. Checking orders to ensure accuracy.
  • Responsible to prioritize incoming and outgoing freight. Work with dispatch staff regarding loads, drivers, volume of freight and progress of dock and loading.
  • Must be aware of company Safety and Health policies at all times. Ensure all staff adhere to policies.
  • Completing daily dock reports
  • Supervise employees, communicate employee issues with supervisor and follow up when required.
  • Assist the Operations Manager in planning employee shifts and work schedule
  • Collaborate with Operations Manager communicating with supervisor regarding operational/shipping problems
  • All other duties as required.

Qualifications:


  • 2 + Years in transport with supervisory experience
  • Positive attitude with proven people skills. Ability to be fair but firm with staff on shift.
  • Honest, and trustworthy with excellent listening skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbally and written. Ability to provide praise and give constructive criticism to staff.
  • Strong desire for continuous positive change.
  • Quality decision making skills, ability to use good judgment.
  • Ability to remain calm in demanding times.
  • Time management skills to coordinate on Erb Limited dock.
  • Have an understanding of routing, O.S. & D, and dock and yard procedures as well as Erb paper flow.
  • Reach truck' and 'forklift' certificates are required.
  • Ability to cover other shifts in the dock.
