Assists the Assistant Registrar, Registrar & Information Services with the day to day management and efficient daily operation of the Vancouver Registrar & Information Services (RIS).

The Coordinator monitors and investigates financial transactions prepares plans for annual ongoing training programs; designs and develops training materials and delivery of training sessions; develops and maintains a master training manual for orienting and educating staff; sources professional presenters for topical training; designs and implements a standard annual training program.


The position coordinates the computer systems for Registrar & Information Services at Burnaby, Surrey, and Vancouver (ie: Library/ID card programs, Contact Centre, payment processing portals, queuing system, etc.); contributes to the planning and delivery of student services; assists in the administrative preparation of requests for information, quotations, proposals, and service contracts; coordinates the selection, acquisition, and/or maintenance of software, hardware, office equipment and ancillary services; liaises with administrative and academic personnel, community members, and external organizations; and prepares written summaries by researching, compiling, documenting, and reporting information.


Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree and three years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience (e.g. in learning and development design and program implementation).

  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written), interpersonal, conflict resolution, organizational, research, problemsolving, and presentation skills.
  • Good knowledge of the University's general and administrative policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Ability to exercise mature judgment, initiative, diplomacy and tact.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems quickly, efficiently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and conflict management skills.
  • Ability to train staff.
  • Skilled in organizing administrative and planning systems and drafting procedures and reports.
  • Ability to analyze and disseminate data, and report out.
  • Excellent leadership, supervisory and team management skills.
  • Ability to arrange suitable transportation to work at SFU Surrey and SFU Burnaby campus locations as required.
