    We are in search of a skilled and thorough Corporate Security Operations and Investigations Specialist to become a valued member of our dynamic team.

    In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in safeguarding the integrity and security of our organization's physical assets, personnel, and information systems.

    Your core responsibilities will be to support and promote a safe and secure workplace and protect ICBC property by overseeing provincial security guard operations, administering our Head Office Emergency Response Plan and conducting site risk/threat assessments.

    This position demands a robust technical aptitude, meticulous attention to detail, and an unwavering commitment to upholding a secure and efficient workplace environment.

    Reporting directly to the Corporate Security Manager, you will be a pivotal contributor to our security efforts.
    *We are looking for a candidate who has previous experience in facility security operations and is highly detailed and adaptable. You are a proactive and solution-oriented individual with sound judgment who can anticipate needs and take independent action on a broad range of administrative tasks and projects.
    You have the ability to identify and escalate issues and connect business needs in a dynamic, ever-changing environment. Coordinates security guard management and emergency responses for locations within the province.

    • Oversees Security Guard contract, security contract budget and Security Guard invoicing. Interview and select security officer candidates, administers security guard work schedules.
    • Responds to all telephone enquiries relating to incidents reported, access control changes and alarm code requests.
    • Responsible for execution of Head Office Emergency Preparedness Plan and leads all emergency preparedness and response activities on site.
    • Conducts site audits, surveys and risk assessments as required, with recommendations to mitigate vulnerability or loss to the corporation.
    • Develops, implements, and conducts internal education, training, and awareness programs on corporate security.

    • Knowledge of community policing programs and community groups implementing crime prevention and awareness programs.
    • Knowledge of investigation methods and practices, collection and preservation of evidence meeting custodian and court standards
    • Knowledge of provincial and federal emergency planning and safety regulations, acts and programs
    * the Criminal Code of Canada and relevant federal and provincial statues, acts and regulations relating to the investigation of property crime and crimes against persons

    • Knowledge of current CCTV, Access Control and Intrusion alarm system concepts and systems
    • Knowledge of relevant corporate computer applications and databases
    • Knowledge of best practices and current trends in security technology
    • Proven track record in the security, security systems or risk management field.
    • In-depth knowledge of emerging security threats and best practices to mitigate them.
    • Proven track record in driving security initiatives and implementing security controls.
    • Strong teamwork, business, and service orientation competencies.
    • Familiarity with Avigilon is an asset.
    • Familiarity with Lenel is an asset.
    • Familiarity with Bosch systems is an asset.
    • Relevant certifications such as CPP, PSP, CPI, CTM, CPTED are an asset.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneNote etc.
    • Demonstrated experience with security incident management, risk assessment, and compliance initiatives.
    • At ICBC, it's our job to make sure the car insurance system works for all British Columbians, today and in the future. Hybrid 10 - you will work a minimum of 10 days per month at your primary in-office headquarters (typically one week in/one week out or up to 3 days per week). The remaining days will be remote within British Columbia.
