Job Summary
- The Outlet Attendant is responsible to provide prompt a courteous Food & Beverage service to guests while maximizing sales and guest satisfaction
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Describes all menu items, methods of preparation, modifiers, addons, and prices accurately.
- Accommodates any special requests to meet guest expectations.
- Upsells menu items, beverages, desserts, etc. to maximize food & beverage revenues.
- Performs pre and post shift assignments, such as, but not limited to, service station, stocking, coffee brewing, cleaning of area, inventory, etc.
- Processes payments, refunds, and any transaction required to complete the service.
- Completes daily cash drop collected on behalf of the hotel at the end of each shift.
- Balances Credit Card Payments against PMS at the end of the shift to ensure accuracy as per Company Accounting procedures.
- Responsible to collect proper transaction backup as per daily accounting practices set by the Company
- Responsible for managing and daily balancing any issued cash float.
- Accountable to adhere to all internal cash policies.
- Logs all guest requests/orders into PMS for proper control.
- Greets, seats and presents menus to guests.
- Clears and resets tables as per Restaurant standards.
- Runs guest's orders from Kitchen to table as per Restaurant standards.
- Serves Beverages as requested by guests, following the Restaurant recipes.
- Ensures cleanliness and tidiness of outlet areas including, but not limited to, fridges, dishwashers, bars, counters, buffet stations, chairs, tables, windows, carpets, etc.
- Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Follows up on quality of service and guest satisfaction during every service.
- Provides a professional image at all times through proper dress code and grooming standards.
- Follows company policies and procedures
- Organizes, sorts and polishes, china, glassware and silverware.
- Is able to work well under pressure, while maintaining a professional outlook towards guests and colleagues.
- Abides by SMART SERVE practices and controls at all times.
- Follows Health and Safety guidelines.
- Engages guests and colleagues in a professional manner. Always with a SMILE.
- Works well with others in a professional and expedited manner.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
Minimum Qualifications and Skills
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
- Experience as a Food & Beverage worker is an asset.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- A "handson individual" capable of obtaining SMART SERVE and Food Handling
- Ability to deal with all levels of management in a professional manner.
- Ability to work unsupervised while providing excellent service.
Mental Effort
- Ability to take direction from different management staff
- Requires focus with consistent interruption
- Ability to deal with guests in a courteous and pleasant manner
Physical Effort
- Some heavy lifting required
Working Conditions
- Standing for long periods
- Working with hazardous materials
Type of Supervision Required
Reports to the Food & Beverage Manager. Works under general instructions to prioritize and complete assigned tasks.
