We are hiring an Accounting Associate at our office in Vaughan, ON

Reporting to the Divisional Controller, the Accounting Associate will be responsible for the daily accounting functions that provide support to the Empire Canada Homes accounting team, inclusive of the account receivables, account reconciliation of assigned GL, AP & AR accounts, and reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis.


What you will be doing:


  • Process deposits from all sources for all project accounts.
  • Provide support in certified cheques, and bank documentation updates.
  • Process stop payment requests for project accounts.
  • Monthly/quarterly AR and AP reconciliations.
  • Review monthly bank reconciliation to ensure all statements are downloaded and completed in a timely manner.
  • Provide support in wire, transfer, bill payment, ACH payment and receivable. This may include a wire and transfer set up, follow up on obtaining approval, ensure coding is correct to prepare journal entry, and proper documentation for approvals and backup.

What you'll bring:


  • Postsecondary education in Accounting or related field.
  • 2+ years of accounting experience within a corporate environment.
