Job Overview:

This is a temporary opportunity from

April 10, 2023 to September 29, 2023. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, this person will ensure the gardens, planters and turf are maintained in excellent condition during the outdoor season.


Specific duties would include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintains gardens, planters and turf, including watering, fertilizing, weeding, removing dead flower/bloom heads, turning soil over.
  • Monitoring turf, plants, shrubs, trees for signs of disease and pests and reporting observations to the Facilities Manager.
  • Generally, maintain the excellent health and appearance of all gardens, planters and turf and the plants, grasses, shrubs, and flowers therein.
  • Maintains grounds, including sweeping, weeding, trimming, clearing snow etc.
  • May be required to address member questions in the area of gardening.
  • Services waste and recycling receptacles, rooms and areas, including emptying, cleaning, inserting new liners and/or bags, preparing bins for pickup, returning bins after pickup, operating compactor.

Job Qualifications:


  • Related postsecondary education and/or skills and experience.
  • Knowledge of the principles surrounding gardening is a required.
  • Awareness of health and safety.
  • Private Club industry experience an asset.
  • Ability to speak, read and write English.
  • Pleasant personality appropriate for a hospitality environment.
