Project Coordinator for the
Concrete Formwork side of our business.

Role Overview

The Project Coordinator will work closely with Project Managers and Site Superintendents in the day-to-day coordination of commercial, mixed-use, and multi-family construction projects to ensure accurate and up-to-date maintenance of documentation, timely billing and payments to subcontractors, scope, quality, contractual obligations, and legal requirements.

The Project Coordinator will assist project managers with financial forecasting, contract management, budget maintenance and schedule tracking and updating.


Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assisting in plan specification analysis to provide clear, traceable, and coordinated interpretations of the design/drawings for construction.
  • Researching and recommending solutions to design document problems, including conflicts, interferences, and errors/omissions.
  • Acting as liaison with subcontractors in expediting drawings, pricing, site instructions, change notices and related information.
  • Reviewing, interpreting, and communicating contract documents and project requirements to the project team, understanding various forms of contract, and communicating associated risks.
  • Reviewing quotes from suppliers and subcontractors relating to bid submissions
  • Ordering and tracking site formwork inventory.
  • Review and implementation of standard forms and related procedures for effective project management.
  • Attending weekly project coordination meetings.
  • Preparing and maintaining project filing system for office and site.
  • Assisting project managers with project billings.
  • Tracking, reviewing, updating, and executing shop drawings to subcontractors.
  • Participating in the continuous updating and accurate generation of asbuilt documents.
  • Monitoring field work, including contract work, to ensure compliance with company standards, procedures, specifications, safety legislation and codes.
  • Participating in and supporting the company safety program.
  • Reviewing field change requests to resolve design issues.
  • Reviewing and delegating deficiency lists.
  • Maintaining accurate and uptodate logs and information for RFI's, SI's, PCN's (CCN or CCO), CN's (CO), Work Orders, permits and bid scopes and drawings.
  • Tracking responses to RFI's and advising project managers and superintendents of the status.
  • Coordinating, gathering, and issuing to the client all related information for all closeout documents including warranties.
  • Conducting quality control activities in accordance with instructions, inspection programs, using specified control measuring and testing equipment.
  • Perform additional assignments and tasks as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of construction methodology, techniques, equipment, drawings and specifications, building materials, required standards applicable to discipline and project management processes.
  • Excellent computer skills including excel, Blue Beam, and Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Knowledge and understanding of project scheduling, work breakdown structures, critical path analysis and utilizing software products to produce meaningful scheduling resources.
  • Comprehension of and ability to interpret blueprints, contract specifications, construction legislation, contract law and quantity takeoffs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a diverse team environment treating others including clients, consultants, supervisors, suppliers, contractors, coworkers and site personnel with courtesy and respect.
  • Ability to assume responsibility and to interface and communicate effectively orally and written.
  • Ability to represent the company and project team in a professional manner to clients, architects, engineers, related project staff and the community.
  • Ability to learn and expand knowledge base for greater performance and productivity.
  • Punctual and reliable.

Working Conditions

  • Work will be performed primarily out of the Edmonton head office and on site.
  • Steel toe boots required.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle required.
  • Travel up to 20% of the time.
