The Research Methods Unit (RMU), located in Halifax, is a research unit designed to support clinical and health research throughout Nova Scotia Health, the IWK Health Centre, and Dalhousie University's Faculties of Medicine, Health Professions and Dentistry.

The Research Assistant position directly reports to the Research Manager, (ACCRU).

The Research Assistant contributes to the Oncology Research Collaborative, a particular research study or division by assisting with study administration, providing general administrative support, and maintaining study data.


Qualifications:


  • Completion of or currently enrolled in postsecondary education in a Health Science and/or Science related field required
  • Two years' research related experience preferred
  • CCRP (Certified Clinical Research Professional) or CCRA (Certified Clinical Research Associate) an asset
  • TCPS2: CORE Certification considered an asset
  • Proficiency with current NS Health systems (STAR, PHS and/or LIS) an asset
  • Certified Health Information Management (CHIM) certification an asset
  • Experience with data entry an asset
  • Effective communication, problem solving and decisionmaking skills
  • Ability to draft, format and edit office correspondence
  • Medical terminology course considered an asset
  • Welldeveloped organizational, time management and daily planning skills
  • Ability to work well independently as well as within a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Previous experience in a health care/research setting is strongly preferred
  • Previous experience in database design and administration considered an asset

Hours of Work:

Long Assignment, Hourly Full-Time (75 hours biweekly)
Beginning June 12, 2023 until June 12, 2024
Monday-Friday business hours. Vacation is flexible and can be modified throughout the calendar year.


Salary Information:
