JOB PURPOSE


The Fundraising Campaign Assistant is a temporary full-time summer position that supports the fundraising team at United Way British Columbia.

The role is an exciting opportunity for an individual to make a difference in their community, try something new, build their networks, strengthen skills, and raise resources for the betterment of their community.

The Fundraising Campaign Assistant will assist with fundraising activities that inspire and engage community members to build a strong, collaborative network of partners and champions across all sectors, raising funds to support the communities we call home.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assisting with the development and implementation of the overall campaign plan
  • Managing relationships with existing workplace and corporate partners, while seeking ways to strengthen their relationship with United Way
  • Supporting execution of United Way events and fundraisers, including community and stakeholder outreach and engagement, solicitation of sponsorships and volunteer recruitment
  • Determining opportunities for community awareness, promoting iVolunteer, acting as a United Way ambassador at local and community events
  • Managing information related to events and campaigns, data entry, research, and reporting
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Computer savvy with knowledge of the full Microsoft Office Suite and an aptitude for digital communication
  • Able to work under pressure; meet deadlines and exercise tact and discretion

  • Able to build strong relationships effectively, support team members and collaborate on solutions

Eligibility Requirements
This 8-week temporary full-time role is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs program.

Requirements for applicants to be eligible for this role are as follows:


  • You must be between 15 and 30 years of age
  • You must be either a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or hold Refugee Status
  • You must not have any family members working for United Way British Columbia

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • 35hour work week. Typical hours are 8:304:30 Monday-Friday, though the position requires some flexibility to accommodate a variety of tasks
  • Require a driver's license and access to a vehicle
  • Must reside in the Nanaimo region

**This is a bargaining unit role with CUPE Local 1760, and pay rate for this role is $23.36
