Position Information:


The Ottawa Hospital is looking for a dynamic and talented health leader to join its Medical Imaging leadership team as the Supervisor, Operations.

This multi-site, fast-paced Service Line encompasses a significant clerical service footprint, representing approximately 500,000 patient encounters per year throughout our various imagining modalities.

Under the guidance of the Operations Manager, plan, organize, control, actuate, and evaluate all Medical Imaging business practices and activities on all campuses, in accordance with established practice, legislation, hospital policies, rules and regulations; to meet the overall objectives of the Department and the Hospital; to provide effective leadership that fosters employee job interest and commitment to the overall department; and hospital objectives and to ensure the efficient delivery of Medical Imaging services.

This position is temporary until approximately March 3, 2025.


Rotation/Shifts:

Days, 8 hour shifts.


What you will bring:


  • Threeyear college diploma in business administration or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experiencel
  • Three (3) years of leadership experience in a unionized health care environment, with practical experience in training and evaluation methodology;
  • Knowledge of current developments in the practice of office management/administration and staff supervision;
  • Knowledge of all regulations under the Provincial Statutes as they relate to patient information, release procedures, and patient's rights and hospital responsibility to secure patient information;
  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Public Hospital's Act;
  • Fluent with HIS, PACS and RIS;
  • Skilled in systems analysis and statistical techniques;
  • Skilled in systems project implementation;
  • Ability to analyze, monitor and understand automated systems and processes;
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills;
  • Excellent presentation and training skills;
  • Excellent leadership skills;
  • Excellent organizational, time management, analytical and problem solving skills.

You will stand out with:


  • Working knowledge of current hospital clinical information systems used in Medical Imaging;
  • Knowledge and understanding of the principles of personnel management and a practical knowledge of managing people within a collective agreement;
  • Proficiency in English and French oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
