Responsibilities:


PRIMARY PURPOSE
Supports the analysis of asset management information and data to provide insights and knowledge to support asset management decisions.

Perform high-level asset analysis to identify trends in the data and make proposals and recommendations bases on those trends, which will contribute, to Asset Management decision making.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES


Works with Maintenance and Engineering, reviewing asset failures and incidents, checking the appropriateness of the remedial actions and mitigating measures.

Categorizes the asset failures or incidents issues accurately and consistently. Analyzes the issues data and assigns action items to problems that require attention. Ensures that the action items are then closed out in a timely manner.


Monitors asset performance daily and develops top level trend analysis for the assets (linear and nonlinear) to support work associated with the asset life cycle, failure trends and for the purpose of determining and prioritizing asset operational condition and asset issues.

Provides support and input to corporate performance metrics and KPIs.


Populates the Maintenance Status Room and devise recommendations and improvements where needed to support the Asset Management System and EAM.

Ensures the contents of the Maintenance Status Room is accurate and representative of the current state of the asset.


Provides support and input where required to ensure the data being collected and used is accurate, correct and reliable, and makes recommendations as required.


Qualifications:


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


The competencies for this position would be acquired through a Technologist Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic discipline, plus four (4) years of relevant experience, with Asset Systems and Processes, preferably in the rail industry.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Solid understanding of asset (linear and nonlinear) behavior, including performance issues, degradation, reliability and failure modes.

Strong in analytical skills, including the use of statistical techniques, associated computer systems and effective presentation of results.


Solid knowledge of relevant standards, legislation, acts and regulatory requirements, knowledge specific to the rail industry would be desirable but not essential.


Advanced communication and interpersonal skills to provide advice to maintenance and engineering, managers and directors, and resolve complex issues with key stakeholders inside and outside of the organization.

Solid planning, organizational and time management skills.

Solid problem solving and decision-making skills.

Solid understanding of asset management principles.

Solid attention to detail and a systematic approach to work.

Experience with Geographic Information System (GIS) would be desirable but not essential.

Recruitment Process:

An applicant will be required to demonstrate their suitability for this position by meeting the minimum level of qualifications and experience in order to be invited into the selection process.

A standard interview format will be used including general, scenario and behavioural descriptive interview questions.


Work Schedule:

40 hours per week.


Rate of Pay:

Salary $80,243 - $100,304 per annum (Actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience and internal parity).
