    The Role

    Fortis Construction Group Inc. is currently on the lookout for a skilled Senior Project Manager. In this role, you'll be responsible for providing administrative direction and overseeing multiple construction projects. Reporting to the Executive team, you will ensure project success by managing costs, schedules, quality control, and project status. Additionally, you will lead Project Coordinators, work closely with Field Superintendents, and maintain strong client and trade relationships.

    Job Duties & Responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Be an ambassador for Fortis Construction Group Inc. both internally and externally
    • Mentor, coach, and supervise junior project managers and other team members
    • Ensure projects adhere to design, budget, and schedule requirements
    • Establish strong relationships with stakeholders and regulatory bodies
    • Develop project plans, manage reporting procedures, and provide performance updates
    • Review and negotiate contracts, monitor progress, and manage project changes
    • Oversee project close-out activities and ensure compliance with quality control standards
    • Monitor project progress, costs, and budgets to ensure profitability
    • Resolve disputes and manage safety protocols
    • Perform other duties as required to meet business objectives

    Qualifications

    • Post-secondary diploma or degree in an engineering or construction management field
    • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience overseeing commercial construction projects
    • Prior management experience in a general contracting environment
    • P.Eng and/or LEED certifications are assets
    • Proficiency in reading blueprints and understanding construction trades
    • Knowledge of workplace compliance regulations and building codes
    • Experience with cost control measures and project accounting systems
    • Valid class G Driver's license and access to a vehicle
