Opportunity:
The Team Leader is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the service delivery is performed according to and within the mission, vision, values statement, and policy/procedural directions of Westcoast Family Centres Society.
Community.
Responsibilities:
- Provide developmental leadership, supervision, evaluation, and support of the growing programs and employees.
- Conduct the screening, hiring, and orientation of new employees.
- Responsible for the overall training and development of employees.
- Assumes professional case responsibility for the quality of work done by individual personnel and the team.
- Foster and maintain a strong, safe, and supportive team environment.
- Work within the parameters of the collective agreement and WESTCOAST policies and procedures.
- Participate in the financial management, monitoring & evaluation of programs and services.
- Participate in the accreditation and quality assurance of service delivery.
- Demonstrate timely and efficient case management, referrals, monitoring, and reporting; meeting agency quality standards.
- Conduct client and stakeholder feedback to ensure consistent quality of service.
- Develop and maintain relationships with funders and community partners.
- Provide critical support during incidents and crisis situations.
- Ensure compliance with legislation and regulation for both work environment and practice.
- Ensure the highest professional standards of ethics and confidentiality.
- This position will not carry a caseload unless there is an emergency.
- On call rotation for all Vancouver programs.
- Overseeing the program Fee for Service. Support payments, monitoring financials, staff support, foster client relationships, monitor client questions and requests.
- Directly supervise the following programs and/or contracts: Supervised Access (over 2 contracts, 3 regions), Resource, Home Support, Intensive Response Services, Family Ties Fee-ForService, CIC.
- Foster and maintain a strong, safe, and supportive team environment.
- Facilitate and chair weekly checkins and team meetings with the Access/Associated Services Team.
- Directly supervise and support staff and/or the team in their development.
- Other duties as required.

- An ability to lead, coach, and maintain high performance standards, monitoring, and evaluating performance, and mentoring others to maximize their potential.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including highly developed empathic listening skills and an ability to effectively interact with people of all ages and cultural backgrounds.
- Creative problem solving and critical thinking skills, including an ability to work with others to find a mutually agreeable outcome.
- Strong organizational skills, including an ability to reprioritize and adjust to a changing environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- An ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of MCFD and community resources for children, youth and families.
- Knowledge of supporting families struggling with addiction and mental health challenges.
- A working knowledge of the BC Child, Family and Community Service Act.
- A strong understanding of traumainformed care.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Child & Youth Care, or related field e.g., health or education. A Master's degree in counselling is an asset.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working families or other vulnerable population.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a senior supervisory, preferably management role.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Training in Non-Violent Communications (NVC) preferred.
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle with adequate insurance (business level).
