Reporting to the Labour Superintendent, the
Plumbing Warranty Technician is responsible for performing warranty calls during the warranty period for PMP projects.


The
Plumbing Warranty Technician will work with the Site Superintendent and Project Managers to identify and resolve the warranty issue and assist in scheduling.


When not attending to warranty issues, the
Plumbing Warranty Technician will visit sites currently under construction and meet with PMs, Superintendents and Forepersons to understand the systems and how they are built to better assist in the warranty period.


Specifically, the
Plumbing Warranty Technician will:


  • Be able to problem-solve issues with all plumbing and heating systems within the warranty scope of the project.
  • Ensure quality control standards are consistently met.
  • Keep track of and order necessary supplies and materials.
  • Prepare work progress reports.
  • Solve work problems and recommend ways to improve productivity and final product quality.
  • Establish methods to meet work schedules and coordinate work activities with other subcontractors.
  • Read and understand the project's plumbing and heating system under warranty, fixtures and equipment specifications.
  • Excellent customer relationship skills and the ability to communicate clearly and in a way the homeowner or client understands the issue.
  • Build a relationship and coordinate with building managers and General Contractor warranty personnel.
  • Perform the duties of a Red Seal Plumber.
  • Have a positive attitude with the ability to lead and train.
  • Have the ability to solve problems, make decisions, and move forward with tasks and know when to involve the Superintendent and Project Manager.
  • Direct and monitor subtrade works to ensure the installation aligns with the project documents.
  • Monitor and report onsite installation to ensure activities are in line with the project schedule, adjusting the team and/or tasks as required
  • Able to take direction from the Superintendent and respond positively to constructive criticism.
  • Able to admit mistakes, own them, and grow from the experience.
  • Have an aboveaverage understanding of the plumbing code.
  • Have a complete understanding of all the required drawings on their projects.
  • Must identify safety hazards and implement the safety plan required to mitigate or remove the hazard from the equation.
  • Must be capable of understanding the correct formats in which to communicate.
  • Other duties as required.

Education and Experience

  • A minimum of 6 years in the mechanical construction industry.
  • Plumbing Red Seal Certification is required.
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with personnel of other departments.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in writing and orally.
  • Formal training in construction management would be an asset.
  • Ability to use Bluebeam.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office products.
  • Be able to adapt to new systems as they come into practice.
  • General understanding of all types of plumbing and mechanical systems.

Compensation:
$46/h+ 5% RRSP + Full Benefits 100% Company-Paid + Life Insurance + LTD + AD&D + Corporate Vehicle + Gas Card + Corporate Phone.
