Who we need:


The Analyst, Strategic Data and Analytics will be responsible for executing Yorkville's strategic reporting and analytics strategy, that enables YU to leverage data and insight across the organization.


This role will work collaboratively with the various leaders to deliver fact-based recommendations to optimize performance, growth, and investments by developing reporting, predictive analytics, and business insights.

You will work directly with SLT/ELT and Board stakeholders to shape and measure both the short
- and long-term success of the organization while reporting to the Director, Strategic Data and Analytics.


What you will do:

  • Build a Center of Excellence for data driven analysis to support:
  • Management and success of every student's journey at Yorkville, and to facilitate early and swift interventions to support the student to graduation.
  • Functional area reporting and forecasting including Admissions, Student Excellence, and Teaching
  • Customer and market segmentation including target growth areas and gap analysis
  • Collaborate on some of the highest priority projects and investments at Yorkville, and work with business owners to develop strategies for executive / board level decisions
  • Train YU functional areas on what information is available, how to access the information and the value of such information to drive enhanced performance. In addition, the team will implement a cadence of ensuring the data is reviewed and that required action is appropriate and tracked/implemented to ensure the desired impact is achieved.
  • Develop a data analytics roadmap of activities that delineates the balance between "ease of implementation" and "highest impact outcomes" to prioritize the functions activities. Work with the BH team and the YU stakeholders to align on priorities and ensure that the appropriate resources are allocated to the various initiatives.
  • Manage and execute data governance policies and standards, including their alignment to industry best practices and regulatory requirements
  • Design a data audit methodology to quantify overall data quality and verify usability of the data
  • Work in a highly collaborative role across functions to develop KPIs and dashboards that support our strategies and initiatives, and ensure alignment across the organization to those KPIs
  • Support crossfunctional teams with data to ensure annual planning and operating plans are completed on time and meet the needs of our stakeholders
  • Build and develop an analytics strategy to empower business leaders to better leverage data for decision making
  • Ensure consistency and quality of data in deliverables for the board, ELT and SLT
  • Champion the standardization and use of data in reporting and analytics
  • Understand and analyze drivers that contribute to student growth and attrition at Yorkville

What you bring:

  • An undergraduate and/or graduate degree(s) in business, sciences, math, statistics and/or engineering
  • Relevant work experience in a data analytics, consulting, or finance role
  • Ability to analytically approach and solve broad and challenging problems
  • Strong communications skills to articulate complex analyses clearly to a variety of senior stakeholders
  • Curiosity, a desire to be challenged, and the aspiration to continually learn
  • Proficiency in data manipulation languages like SQL, Python, or R
  • Previous experience with databases, business intelligence tools, ETL pipelines, and machine learning systems would be an asset
