Position Background:
The Project Manager (PM) is the 'decision-gate' for all things in relation to their assigned project(s). This individual takes full responsibility for the planning and execution of his/her project(s).
The PM is a technical expert in various areas and will also work as a member of the projects team to maintain and drive the success of the Environmental and Energy Services.
This role must ensure project completion in a safe manner while staying within budget, on schedule, and in conformance with the appropriate standards, specifications, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Promote and establish excellent clientbased relationships and coordinate all aspects of a project
- Organize, instruct, and ensure projects are completed in a safe manner, on time, and on budget
- Provide feedback to estimators who are gathering information on projects for quoting
- Coordinate the efforts of the Ketek labour team, thirdparty contractors, and/or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan
- Be reachable by the Client and the Site Supervisors at all times
- Plan the assigned job
- Conduct prejob kickoff and postjob review meetings
- Require and verify the completion of Pre-Job Safety Instructions/Job Safety and Hazard Assessments for all projects
- Organize manpower for project execution
- Organize equipment and trucks for project execution
- Communicate to the client as required for the project or requested by the client
- Prepare information for invoice creation and check for accuracy prior to release
- Fill required paperwork
- Successfully complete safety training as required on an ongoing basis
- Observe all safety procedures and use proper Personal Protective Equipment
- Ensure that all of Ketek policies and Occupational Health and Safety regulations are followed
- Be considerate of the needs of our community and the environment
- Perform other related duties as required
- Represent Ketek in a light that is commensurate with the values of Management and the Corporate Mission Statement
Working Conditions:
- Office environment (88%), field environment (10%), and shop environment (2%)
- Reachable 24/7 (cell phone provided)
- Preaccess drug and alcohol testing may be required
Qualifications and Skills:
- Fluent in the English language (reading, written, spoken)
- Must have previous Project Management experience
- Driver's license and driver's abstract
- Nonspecific postsecondary/trades/technical education
- Basic electrical and mechanical knowledge
- Develop adequate skills using our RMI program
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to deal with the public in a positive, courteous, and respectful manner
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and frequent demanding deadlines
- Ability to handle changing schedules and priorities, with highlevel prioritization skills
- Strong work ethic and organizational planning skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Effective verbal and listening communication skills
